Christoph König is proud to have made it together with the Pittsburgh Symphony into the “ The top 10 Pittsburgh classical music performances of 2014 ” of the Post-Gazette
Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, Christoph König (Jan. 18, Heinz Hall): Saturday night is not generally the time when most rational, pleasure-seeking people are looking to hear a lecture. But in the middle of this PSO concert, Heinz Hall became a lecture hall, and a very good one at that. Christoph König conducts the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra in a programme of Rachmaninov Symphony No. 2, Mussorgsky Scherzo in B-flat Major (Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra Premiere, and Chopin Piano Concerto No. 2, featuring the fabulously gifted 2010 Chopin Competition winner Yulianna Avdeeva.
