It is with great pleasure that after the successful début of the Solistes Européens Luxembourg and Christoph König at the Kölner Philharmonie two years ago, the orchestra has been re-invited to give another concert tonight. In a programme called “Die Deutsche Romantik” the orchestra is going to play Weber Freischütz Ouverture, Schumann Symphony no. 4, and Mendelssohn’s iconic Violin Concerto featuring Michael Barenboim, the son of the legend pianist Daniel Barenboim. Find out more about the programme which will be repeated the night after at the Philharmonie Luxembourg HERE.
Christoph König conducts the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra in a programme of Rachmaninov Symphony No. 2, Mussorgsky Scherzo in B-flat Major (Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra Premiere, and Chopin Piano Concerto No. 2, featuring the fabulously gifted 2010 Chopin Competition winner Yulianna Avdeeva.
