Meyerhoff Symphony Hall, Baltimore.
It is with great pleasure that Christoph König returns this week to conduct the magnificent Baltimore Symphony Orchestra in a programme combining the two most diverse C-major endings in symphonic literature: Beethoven’s iconic Fifth, and Sibelius’ Swansong on European classical music, his Seventh. Alban Gerhard is going to play one of his signature pieces: Shostakovich cello concerto no. 1.
