This week sees Christoph König conducting for the first time Schönberg’s less known Chamber Symphony No. 2 together with Bach, Casablancas, and Haydn. When Fritz Stiedry premièred the work 1940 in New York, he combined it with Bach Brandenburg Concertos No. 1 and 4; this time Bach Brandenburg 3 will be played. And the Real Filharmonia de Galicia is a real joy: exceptionally well prepared, focused, and committed, they undertake a journey which is a first even for them.
